Gatineau, 5 February 2025 — Cilex and Institut Innovation Gatineau unveiled today their new unified identity under the name Axeo. The merger committee, which includes members of both boards of directors, hopes that the new organization will serve as an axis for the growth trajectory of tech businesses in the Outaouais region and Western Quebec. An official launch event will be held in March.
Farid Dagher will serve as General Director of Axeo, having worked as a business advisor at Cilex since 2019, as well as being a long-time entrepreneur and chartered professional accountant. This multidisciplinary expertise, embodied by all members of its team, is Axeo’s greatest strength, bringing together decades of business coaching experience under the same roof. Startups can expect even better support than before in a reinforced organization.
“As the saying goes, alone we go fast, together we go far. This is the guiding principle behind this merger, and we hope to relay that message to the businesses we’re coaching,” says Farid Dagher, General Director of Axeo.
The merger of the two organizations was announced in 2024, with the aim of creating a consolidated innovation catalyst to better serve businesses in the Outaouais region and beyond. Axeo will be able to draw on the combined expertise of its two precursors, including business networking, cybersecurity, Web3, various certifications and partnerships with specialized institutions, and links with the construction industry and Ottawa. Its unified service offer will help technological businesses access resources more easily and amplify their impact on the region’s ecosystem. The Axeo team is currently working on new programs focused on business validation and the prototyping of innovative technology.
